Right Here With Me

by Riley Jantzen

about

On February 27, 2017 my Grandma Mayola Jantzen passed away at the age of 90. While organizing her service, my Aunt asked if I would be willing to play a song. After spending a considerable amount of time trying to find the perfect song to honor her, I decided the only way I was going to find the right fit is to write it myself. I am very proud of what came of it.

lyrics

When I think of you
I’m seven years old
Helping you pick strawberries
Those were the days
That made me, me

When I think of you
You are standing so tall
Kind eyes and smiling
And that is how you will always be, to me

Lord knows
Without you
Who I would be
Just thankful I’ll never have to know
No one was better to me
You’ll always be right here with me

When I think of you
I am thirteen years old and I’m
Angry over nothing
Some how you still
Put up with me

And when I think of you
I know your not really gone
You will always be right here with me
As alive in my heart
As anyone can be

Lord knows
Without you
Who I would be
Just thankful I’ll never have to know
You’ll always be right here with me
